PLEASE NOTE Coombe Dean School is closed for mainteinance on Tuesday 11th August, Thursday 13th August and Saturday 15th August, therefore there will be NO shooting at all. However we are at the Cornwood Show on the Saturday.
After a busy and successful Have-A-Go at the Plympton lamb Feast in June and the quieter one at South Brent the next Have-A-Go is at the Cornwood Show on Saturday 15th August, Help on the day is required.
PLEASE NOTE PLYMOUTH ARCHERS HAS MOVED TO COOMBE DEAN SCHOOL, CHARNHILL WAY, PLYMSTOCK POST CODE PL9 8ES.
Congratulations to Koan on winning the boys junior recurve round at Grand Day with the highest score of the day of 579.

The start of a new year with the new members of the committee and another change recently with Tom releasing the treasurers job due to work commitments. This very necessary job is being taken on by Jim Coventry, however if any Club member wishes to take on this job please let a committee member know.
On the subject of Jim, he has organised a skittle evening on Friday 13th March at Tuscany's in Brixton just outside Plymstock on the road to Kingsbridge. We ask for your support for a fun evening which is open not only to Club members but wives, girl friends, husbands boy friends lovers, mistresses, friends or all of the above (could be more fun than the skittles!!) . See Jim or a Committee member.
The Chinese New Year shoot on Wednesday 21-1 went well and was enjoyed by those taking part. The winner was Tom with a timely return to form and the last end victory over newcomer Neil and third Matt who has only just finished his Student Archers Course. Thanks to Hannah for organising the shoot and we look forward to the next novelty shoot. Well done Hannah.
Dear Member,
We have recently introduced a questionnaire about the club. Anybody is welcome to fill it out as it will enable us to improve our club. Please see notice board.
Don’t forget to order your club shirt. Order forms are available from Tom.
Due to the maintenance work currently being done on the rugby pitch, we will have the use of the area behind the Astroturf courts and store stuff near this area.
The next quarterly members’ meeting will be held at the beginning of the sessions on 11th, 12th and 15th March. This is YOUR opportunity to have your say about the club – be it good or bad. Let us know what you think. You can also approach any member of the committee at any time and air your views. Don’t be afraid – we don’t bite!
We have been invited to put on ‘Have a Go’ sessions at Plympton Lamb Feast (21st June), South Brent Carnival (29thJune) and Yealmpton Show (30th July). If anyone is interested in helping, please see Jim.
A member if the club has suggested that we donate a portion of the shooting fees to charity. This was discussed in committee and voted against. The reason for this is because all the ‘Have a Go’ sessions we put on and charge for; we donate a portion of the takings to the charities supported by the event organisers. However if anyone wishes to collect for charity at the club, they would be more than welcome to bring along a collection tin or help organise an event to raise money for their charity.
The club competition was a howling success with many members taking part. Congratulations to ALL that competed and I hope that you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
Congratulations to all of the club members that took part in the Devon Championships.
The next club event will be on Tuesday 18th March and will be team event involving a game of darts. Speak to Hannah. If anyone has any suggestions for a novelty shoot, or any requests for a repeat of a recent shoot, please contact Hannah.
Please note that your club is run completely by volunteers. All equipment needs to collected from the store and erected in the hall before anyone can shoot. Obviously the more people that help, the faster things get done and the faster you get to shoot. Similarly at the end of the session the equipment needs to be taken down and stored away. Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
